Built-in Walnut Bookcase
One wall library, case on case construction. Unit is 11 feet wide by not quite 9 feet tall.
Center section has a bank of 8, 6 light doors. Waterglass waves look exagerated in these pictures.
Upper case materials
Entire upper case is constructed of solid walnut, including the tongue and groove back slats.
Pillowed 1/2" square ebony pegs in the plinth blocks compliment the 1/4" pegs in the doors.
Entertainment Center Wall
As you enter the room from the old section of the house you are facing the entertainment wall.
The owner had the architect break up the back wall into a series of separate spaces
Window seat (sans cushions) looks out on the back yard. Three drawers in the base add more useful storage.
The last wall contains a murphy bed flanked by two windows. The bed is disguised as a cabinet by false front doors and drawers.
The legs fold out of the side columns, releasing the catches so the bed can be lowered into position.
